Although it was a Friday, all the fellow car lovers at Logan were especially looking forward to school. On May 4th, 2018, the annual lowrider show took place in the Logan parking lot near the portable classrooms, and opened to much excitement.

Many of the participants were enthusiastic to be able to showcase their own vehicles to a large crowd. Here are some of the reactions and opinions of the attendees:

“I have attended the event for three years now,” said Samuel, an avid participant. Although he remarks that the event has been dying down gradually, he’s still excited for this special day every year.

Samuel is an owner of three cars, all of which are from different decades. His favorite one is the Chevrolet Camaro- IROC-Z 1986, followed by Hudson Hornet from 1954, and finally, a 1969 Ford Mustang 428 Cobra Jet.

Erik Diaz, another car owner, described the detailed steps he uses to take care of his car. “I always make sure I drive my car carefully,” he noted. “This means I don’t speed or force the engine too much. Also, I make sure to change the oil every 1,000 miles. I keep it clean inside and outside, and I take it to the car wash every week.”

Throughout the show all the participants and spectators had a great time admiring and showing off their fancy lowriders. Although this year’s event wasn’t as great as the last one, the attendees were largely satisfied with the vibe of the event.
