Glass Animals, the Oxford based indie rock group who topped charts with “peanut butter vibes” glass-animals-human-being-cover1in their hit single “Gooey” from their last release, have released their sophomore album after two years, How To Be A Human Being.

The album starts off with “Life Itself” that undoubtedly gives off super summery vibes.  The high energy drum beats and sci-fi synths encompass Glass Animals’ aesthetic almost wholly.

The record pulls a full 180 and out pops “Season 2, Episode 3” as track three.  This song transitions the whole atmosphere from psychedelic-like pop to a trip hop feeling.

Another gem off of this album is definitely “The Other Side of Paradise”, as track eight.  It is one of those jams that can be easy listening study music, or party music. It has resonated in many people’s hearts as their favorites off the album as well.

The record as a whole is described as a concept album in the way that each song is based around a fictitious character put together by the band’s frontman Dave Bayley.  Since each song is such a complicated vignette, it leaves some listeners, that delve deeper into the music, pondering many things.  Because of this, Glass Animals worked so well with hip hop artist Joey Bada$$.

All in all, How To Be A Human Being is innovative, trippy, and just plain cool.  It is a definite great listen.
