The James Logan Lady Colts Softball team faced off against league rival Washington Huskies last Tuesday. Logan is off to another strong start this season with a 6-1 record in the Mission Valley League and a 12-3 record overall.

Logan was the visiting team for this game. They got out to an early lead with two runs in the top of the first, adding another run in the third inning in which they seized momentum quickly.

That was plenty enough run support for senior pitcher Camille Rodriguez, as she went the distance on the mound allowing only one run, two hits, and had 13 strikeouts.

As a team, the Colts batted .333 and had nine hits in the game. Senior Aliyah Yates batted 1.000 with three RBIs along with another stellar performance from Senior Cassandra Wenn, who batted .500 and knocked in an RBI along with Olivia Cazares.

The Lady Colts ended up winning the game with score of 6-1 and holding a tie for first place in League which Logan hopes to take from Moreau and Newark later this season.

NCS Playoffs are coming up soon as well as the Lady Colts hope to make it back to the NCS Title game and regain their crown from top programs like Foothill who are favored to win once again.
