As prom season approaches, Logan students are rushing to buy everything they need for the big day. With the high prices of tickets, many are struggling to find the right dress or tux under $100 and accessories to match. To help out, here are some tips to help save on a night to remember.

One of the most popular ways to shop for special occasions would be online. Stores like Lulu’s, Rent from Runway, and Nordstrom Rack offer a designer dress for a practically stolen price. Online rental places are always available and helpful to cut back on the moola as well, but make sure you don’t ruin the clothing or else you will be charged full price.

Junior, Shaila Graham states, “Prom prices are super expensive this year, so if you want to look good, try to buy drugstore makeup like Milani and Covergirl to give a good makeover. Honestly, makeup from drugstores are of the same quality as the makeup you would buy from Sephora, but way better on a budget.”

Another way to save is to make your own corsages and boutonnieres, with instructions posted on the internet and in magazines. “Corsages are kind of overrated but if you want to get one, ask around school. Usually, at least a couple of people are making them at cheaper prices than local florists,” says Junior Tayla Rios.

Prom is an already expensive night, but with the right saving hacks, the night will run smoothly.
