On December 20, 2017, “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” was released everywhere in the United States! This movie was a remake of the original movie, “Jumanji”.

In this movie, the starring characters were Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, Kevin Hart, and Jack Black. This movie was a highly-anticipated movie, that was extremely hyped up because it was a remake of such a popular movie.

The story of the movie made it a hilarious comedy. Four teenagers end up in detention for all different reasons. In the midst of being in detention, they find a game and start to play. Unexpectedly, they end up being sucked into the game, each becoming characters of the game. The characters were Ruby Roundhouse, Dr. Smolder, Professor Shelly Oberon, and Moose Finbar.

This movie was a hit, bringing in many families together for a great laugh, and some students and teachers just so happened to enjoy the movie as well. Junior, Makenzie Armer, says she rates it 5 stars out of 5. Her favorite character was Kevin Hart because of his humor. She states, “I’d recommend everyone to check it out! I think it was a great movie to watch with your siblings, if you have any. I’d love to take my dog (named Friday) to watch it when the DVD comes out.”

She wasn’t the only one that enjoyed the movie, math teacher, Mr. Powe loved the movie. He rated it 4 out of 5 stars, and his favorite character was Dwayne Johnson. He states, “I love Dwayne Johnson because he was super funny. And, he was amazingly buff.” He wasn’t lying, because senior at James Logan, Jerrald James Sarmiento states, “My favorite character was The Rock. He was swole like crazy. I look up to him for bodybuilding and acting, he has the perfect blueprint just like Arnold did.”

“Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle” was a hit! Majority of people who watched it claimed they loved it. The movie lived up to its hype, and catered to the lovers of the original “Jumanji”. The movie is still out today, so make sure to watch it if you have the chance!
