The Weeknd celebrates his 27th birthday by releasing a star-studded music video for his track Reminder.
Abel Tesfaye decided to surprise his fans with a visual for the fourth single off of his recent album Starboy. The video features cameos from a handful of artists including Drake, A$AP Rocky, Bryson Tiller, YG, Travis Scott, and French Montana. Although these rappers don’t actually come out in the song, you can find them partying with Abel or riding around in lambos.
The Reminder video has already gained more than 2 million views after being on YouTube for less than 24 hours. It is also, currently, number 3 on the top “trending” list. XO fanatics are obviously not only going insane for a new music video, but also loving the celebrity cameos.
The almost 4 minute visual mainly has Abel and his crew living lavishly in Los Angeles, and with good reason. The song itself is literally a reminder to his haters or enemies that he is up right now and he boasts about the women, cars, and fame he has acquired. So it is only fitting that the video starts off with him landing on the hills of Hollywood in a helicopter and is filled with drinking, partying, lots of women, cars, and just having a good time with friends in a luxurious mansion. The overall vibe is carefree with a hint of hard-worked bragging from The Weeknd.
