The twelfth season of The Voice premiered on February 27, 2017.   The Voice is a popular American reality television singing competition broadcast on NBC. The winner of the show receives hundred thousand dollars in US currency and a record deal with the Universal Music Group. Winners are determined by the viewers of the show, by voting through SMS, telephone, and the internet.

Hosts Gwen Stefani, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton have already chosen some of the most amazing singers in America, but the search is still on. Adam Levine, with 9 singers already on his team, needs 3 more, Gwen Stefani and Alicia Keys with 8 singers each still need 4 more talented singers, and finally, Blake Shelton, with just 7 singers on his team needs 5 more singers to complete his team.

This season of The Voice is unlike none other. Gwen Stefani is back, but not just as a returning host, but the girlfriend of  fellow host, Blake Shelton. However this doesn’t mean there’s any less competition between the two. Dynamics aren’t the only things that are new to this season. Each team also has a new battle advisor. John Legend will be advising Team Adam, Celine Dion will be advising Team Gwen, DJ Khaled for Team Alicia and Luke Bryan for Team Blake.

Although many of the singers were new to the singing show business there were many familiar faces. Brennley Brown was on the eleventh season of America’s Got Talent but was eliminated in the Judge Cuts round and Anatalia Villaranda was a Top 51 auditionee from the final season of American Idol, each of this artist tried their luck again and secured their place on Team Blake and Team Alicia.

As we continued to watch the each team fill up and watch the heartbreaks of those who couldn’t make it, let’s hope that this season of The Voice is just as good as the last.
