Point Guard for the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry, will return tonight against the Atlantic Hawkes after missing six games due to a injury in his right ankle.
Curry has injured his ankle on four separate occasions which resulted on him being sidelined for a total of 21 games. His most recent scare took place on March 8th at a home game against the San Antonio Spurs. After his injury, he did not travel with the club for 3 road games.
Coach Steve Kerr said Curry has “looked good” in two practices leading up to Friday’s game. The training staff agrees, assuring him that keeping Curry sidelined would no longer be beneficial.
After Thursday’s practice, Curry said, “I’m feeling good.”
“I’ve had a good two weeks of rehab and kind of taken a patient approach to getting as close to 100 percent as possible, understanding where we’re at in the season and the injury that I’ve had over the course of the last three months,” said Curry.”When I wake up in the morning, I’ll know the difference between my right and the left, but that won’t stop me from being who I am on the floor and having confidence in myself when I get back out there,” he said.
When asked about her opinion, Michelle Lee, a senior, said, “I hope he is doing well and I hope they win tonight.”
The Warriors have 11 games remaining on the schedule and is four games behind the Houston Rockets for the top spot in the Western Conference standings.
