It has been a tradition for each class to do a skit based on the the overall theme for the year.
This year we started off with decorating a specific spot on campus based on each class’ theme. This served as a
replacement for floats after the construction of the new track. As the new year 2018 started off some of the biggest activities to get involved in now is the annual skit. The main theme for this year is childhood films.
The freshman theme is Up, the sophomores have Shrek, the Juniors got the Incredibles, and the Seniors went for High School Musical. We spoke to students involved in skit preparations. Senior Karen Nguyen said, “Everything so far is going smoothly, and it’s great to be involved.”
Lots of seniors are excited to start preparing. “I’m really looking forward to going over the choreos and the songs, it’s going to be amazing,” stated Romi Cablay.
The graduating class of 2018 is looking forward to ending this year right. “This is our last year, we’re gonna put maximum effort into it, and hopefully people will really enjoy what we got in store for them.” Britney Luong told the Courier. Other students are simply happy to be involved, “It’s the first time I’m participating in skit, I wasn’t interested last year, but now I’m excited to help out,” Leizel De la Cruz said.
A lot of people are needed to make the skit a successful experience. Leadership member Alexa Sass said she encourages all students to come and participate. “It’s an amazing experience and a great way to get to know other people,” Sass said.
Those who are working on the preparations sat they appreciate the extra help. “We need more people to do the backdrop and help with props, if you got time, please try and come,” stated Kristian Lumentigar. The skits will take place every day during lunch this week. Students are encouraged to come to the pavillion and support the classes.
