It was that time of year again! Logan ladies broke the stereotype of the classic guy ask girl and instead asked their guys to Sadies!

Danielle, a Senior, had never been to Sadies before had decided to ask her boyfriend of a few months to the dance.

She explains her experience, “My boyfriend and I talked about going beforehand. He already knew I was going to ask him, he just didn’t know how and when. I made him a poster that said Will you fly up with me to Sadies? based on the Pixar movie UP ”

Savannah, another Senior, explains how she felt about the role reversal challenge in asking her boyfriend. “It was weird being the ‘cute’ one because guys usually are the cute ones making the grand romantic gestures in front of people. It was hard planning out how everything would work out as well as trying to keep it secret. I saw my Sadies proposal idea on pinterest and it said ‘Are you IN OR OUT to Sadies?’

I immediately thought it was the best idea since my boyfriend works there. I thought of asking while he was working but I didn’t want to get him in trouble from stopping work and taking cute pictures, so I waited until he was done. I got one of his friends to help me out by being the eyes on the inside to tell me when he was walking out. When he saw me, I could tell how happy he was because he picked me up. It just goes to show how important it is to reverse roles and take the time to make the guys feel special too.”

Jacob, a Senior, gives the male perspective on being asked to Sadies. He said, “It is different. It was fun and it was a good change”

About actually going to Sadies, he states “Yeah I think it’s cool she’ll pay for the ticket and all that stuff she’s going to pay for everything. I had to pay for prom.”

While the fun of planning how to ask your date to Sadies may be over, the dance itself is right around the corner! Sadies will be held at Logan this Friday.
