We interviewed Richard Pabalate, a senior at James Logan. He started a website called The Growing Self because he’s always had a strong desire to change the world.
“ I was trying to figure out if I can help other beings through personal training, YouTube videos, or a website; so I decided to do all. I then figured that starting out with a spiritual-development website would be the best thing to do first because it came a lot easier to me,”
He started the website in the beginning of December where he hopes to help others grow to be the strongest version of themselves on a spiritual level.
The “S” in “The Growing Self is capitalized in order to put emphasis on the fact that the “Self” is a living entity within us. Ultimately, “the growing” part of the name is a lifestyle to describe the “Self”
“The lifestyle is to always seek to doing things with the intention to grow the ‘Self’, and ‘the growing’ explains how one has the power for the ‘Self’ to always grow,” said Richard. “The company is more than just a company, it’s a lifestyle, ‘the growing Self’ is a movement,”
We asked Richard about who someone he has looked up to on his spiritual journey. “ My biggest inspiration has to be a man named Elliott Hulse. He has been a huge influence for me on my spiritual journey! I’ve watched plenty of his YouTube videos, and his advice has helped me grow tremendously. Also, he’s inspired me to be a self-made man, to own my own businesses, and to be a spiritual teacher,”
When Richard is not working on his website he enjoys to lift weights. He would love to pursue rock climbing as a hobby, but many of these gyms have very expensive memberships.
