A major component to what some consider as a “good childhood” is having fun with friends at a park, movies, or the classic day at the pool.

Some students at Logan and other schools still, as high schoolers, do not know how to swim. This is extremely surprising to me, but it could be because I, personally, have been swimming since I was little.

Jeremy Aquino, a Logan senior had some thoughts on why some people at the high school level don’t know how to swim.  “Kids are never taught by their peers, but a lot of the time the parents themselves don’t know how to swim, so the children never learn.”

Israel, a junior at logan said “Kids these days just don’t have time to learn with school being a big part of their lives. Homework is starting to take over kids’ lives, with the huge amounts of pressure to get good grades.”

All in all, society should keep the old tradition of teaching your kids how to swim and, in general, teach them things that our parents never had time to teach us.  We wouldn’t want them to miss out on anything!
