The San Francisco Giants have drafted new players for this new season.
With the season starting off, Madison Bumgarner hit two home runs on opening day and struck out 11 batters. It seemed to go well, but the Arizona Diamondbacks had a counter attack for the Giants as they scored back to back home runs in the 7th. With the score being tied, The Giants and “D-Backs” furiously fighting to win the first game of the season. Giants’ new closing pitcher, Mark Melancon, made his first debut to close the game, giving up the winning run for the D-Backs to win their first game of the 2017 Season.
Since the opening game, The Giants are continuing their up and down stretch that seems it has carried over from last season. To make it worse, the Giants have lost a few key players with Madison Bumgarner going to the disabled list due to a dirt biking accident and Brandon Crawford dealing with a groin injury. On top of that, The Giants’ Bullpen hasn’t been looking too sharp sometimes blowing leads in late game like last season. SF’s offense has been good so far but most of their losses are from poor defense and no good production from the bullpen.
The good thing that it is early in the season so the Giants can turn it around when comes down to the playoff chase starts.
