NFL free agency, the time to come sign and to resign players. Next Thursday, free agency is coming to cover all the news for football fans on NFL network.
One of the latest Trade Alerts that has just been revealed was Former Broncos cornerback, Aqib Talib, who was traded to the Rams recently in exchange for a fifth round pick in this years NFL draft.
Two seasons ago, the Rams struggled to compete with other NFL teams with an embarrassing record of 4-12, making them one of the worst teams that season. This year they managed to change their reputation from disappointments to must see action.
Their record had drastically changed with a record of 11-5, mostly due to acquiring a new Head Coach, whom catapulted them into the playoffs as well as a NFC west title.
Another shocking trade came from the Minnesota Vikings, who traded Defensive Tackle Tom Johnson, to the Seattle Seahawks. Johnson is known to be a dominant defensive tackle who stops the inside run which ultimately was the reason Seattle signed him to a one-year worth up to $2.7 million dollars.
As a Bay Area resident, I noticed that the Raiders as well had some shocking trades. On Friday, the NFL draft announced that they had a total of 7 trades but since now has increased to 11. They have yet to announce who they have chosen, but what we do know is that the Raiders were One out of the Four teams to have been awarded fours picks along with the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, and Green Bay Packers.
The 49ers, just across the Bay have also made a trade for their Center Daniel Kilgore to join the Miami Dolphins to fill up space for a better center, Weston Richburg. Daniel Kilgore had just signed a contract extension with the 49ers as well so this was a shocking move for most people. With new positions open the 49ers have now had the chance to swap their seventh round picks, which will allow them to move up four spots in the final round. So as of right now the team still holds 9 overall selections in the Draft.
With the upcoming draft slowly approaching, fans everywhere hope to see their teams acquire top notch players for the next season.
