I took a trip to the Phillipines, and my time there was filled with many activities to do and things to see.
There are many differences between the Phillipines and the United States, even past the currency. There are lanes on the road, but no one really uses them; they just create lanes of their own, cutting people off and overtaking the road. There were many other small differences between the United States and the Phillipines. Some of these were things that we take for granted or as normal here such as wifi, stoves, and shoes. Most people in the Philippines that I saw were either wearing no shoes at all or just slippers. This might be because of how hard it is for many people in the Phillipines to make money.
Something that caught my attention was the many little shops that would be around the whole streets of the Philippines. Many of these shops are food vendors that will sell and give out water jugs, ice tubes, or food. The food you would find in markets is junk food, soda, vegetables/fruits, or fish. Families run these markets all around the streets. When purchasing any drinks that come from a glass bottle of soda or beer you’re told to bring back the glass bottle to the shop. This is because those bottles are owned by the owner of the shop if anybody fails to bring back the bottle they are told to pay a small amount.
There are many fun and exciting activities to take a look at in the Phillipines. In Subic, there’s both a zoo and water park in the area. The zoo is the Zooobic Safari where of course you can see different types of animals. The main attraction of this zoo are its tigers that you can feed as you ride a jeepney. The Water Park in Subic is called Adventure Beach Waterpark. It has many different types of pools and different types of Filipino food. Water parks, beaches, and zoos seem to be really common. Most of the places that were visited had a pool/beach. Subic, Tarlac, and Patar are all examples of this.
With so many things to do, a trip to the Phillipines is a must. There is never a dull moment in the country and there is so much to see and learn.
