Moreau Catholic and James Logan are currently tied for first in the MVAL league with both teams at a record of 8-1. They currently played their second contest this last Tuesday at Moreau this time. The last matchup of the two teams James Logan came out on top with a win of 66-56 at their house. This time, the game was even crazier than the first time. It was sold out, with about 900 tickets or more.
Many scouts and college coaches also attended the game as well as parents and Moreau’s huge supportive student section. However, even though Logan was playing away they had as much support from the crowd as Moreau did. The stands were completely filled; there was not even one empty seat there. With every basket each team scored, there was a loud roar from the crowd. I’m blessed to have played in that game. Even though my team didn’t win this time around, I gave it my all and so did my team. It sucks since we are tied for league right now; I would really rather just have won league rather than share a league title. I think we fought throughout the game and our coach prepared us very well. I don’t know what happened, as players we just need to play better. Team Captain, James Colyer said., “We knew Moreau 6th man would play a role they in a way distracted the team, as a team we need to play more unselfish than we did and we know what to improve on from here on out. Our coach was pretty upset about the loss, but as players we know we need to bounce back from this loss and every game is crucial from now on.
There is a possibility that these teams will have to play a tiebreaker so there will be a league champion. Moreau is the 2-time champion, but Logan’s plans on taking over it will be an interesting third matchup if these teams do end up playing.
