With all the protests, social media conflicts and controversy going on since president-elect, Donald Trump, a recount was demanded and is now in process.
The Wisconsin Election Commission announced this past Friday that they will conduct a Statewide recount of all votes for the presidential position. The recount results will be in as soon as possible but no one knows for sure how soon that will be, since a recount can take quite a while.
Jill Stein, president nominee of the Green Party in the election, along with Rocky De La Fuente, an American politician, raised the costly amount of money to make this happen. The cost depends on the amount of ballots that are to be recounted. There were are about 2.9 million votes cast in. It is estimated that the cost will come out to be between $1.4 million and $3.9 million. It is with great fortune that Jill Stein and Rocky De La Fuente are doing their part to see that Trump doesn’t get his hands on making any life-changing decisions.
Unfortunately, with only a recount in Wisconsin, it won’t be enough to get Hillary Clinton the big win. Trump won Wisconsin with just a little over 20,000 votes, an estimate of about .06%. That thin margin of a percent can easily come out and Hillary is favored in the recount. But Wisconsin only offers 10 electoral votes, Hillary needs 28 more electoral votes in order to over-trump Trump.
Lucky for us, Stein is continuing to raise money to conduct a recount in both Michigan and Pennsylvania as well. If all goes in Hilary’s favor, Hillary Clinton may just be our new President-elect. It is indeed a large measure to reach, but this election overall has been quite surprising regarding turnouts.
