Hundreds of students are angry at Logan’s administration for the last minute cancellation of Mike Sherm, a popular local rapper famous for his “Blue Faces” track.
After two weeks of selling tickets and promoting the Winter Ball featuring the performance of Mike Sherm, the Logan administrators decided to cancel his performance due to many complaints they received from angry parents. Parents expressed their concern on the special guest because they believed that the artist was inappropriate for a school dance. The students did not hear about the cancellation until the day before the ball.
Many students were blaming the school, leadership team, and even Mike Sherm himself until it was stated he was cancelled because parents were complaining about his music and Mr. Brar did not believe it was right to support the type of things he talks about in his music. Many students were very disappointed about the cancellation and wanted their money back.
The news spread quickly throughout social media, especially twitter, where many students began talking badly against Logan and their administration. Students from Logan and even other schools began to believe that Logan never actually booked Mike Sherm for the dance from the start. There were many misinterpretations and rumors going around what the truth actually was.
Plenty of Logan’s students stated that the only reason they were going to the dance in the first place, was because Mike Sherm was going. Many decided not to go last minute and as a result, there was a significant number of students that did not attend since the school offered to refund their tickets
Overall, there was a good amount of students who still attended the ball and had fun regardless of the fact that Mike Sherm did not show up, leaving it to be a successful night
