AC/DC’s co founder and rhythm guitarist Malcolm Young dies at age 64 suffering from dementia.

On Facebook, November 18th AC/DC posted, “Today it is with deep heartfelt sadness that AC/DC has to announce the passing of Malcolm Young.”

With songs such as Back in Black, R.I.P(Rock in Peace), and Thunderstruck, Malcolm Young is set to be one of the greatest rock rhythm guitarists ever.

Malcolm, George, and Angus young were both born in Glasgow and then emigrated to Sydney, Australia. George died at the age of 70 on October 22, 2017, no cause of death provided.

Malcolm and Angus first rose to stardom due to George and his band The Easybeats who gained global fame because of the song “Friday on my mind.”

“I’ve never felt like a pop star, this is a nine-to-five sort of gig,” Malcolm told Rolling Stone in 2008. “It comes from working in the factories, that world. You don’t forget it.”

In 1973 Malcolm recruited Angus to form a new band which they named AC/DC. They got the name from an electrical current maker on their sister’s sewing machine. They were both introduced to Bon Scott by George who then helped record the early albums of AC/DC.

AC/DC is a power force in the rock business and their music lives on.
