On March 16, 2018, a revolutionary movie hit the screens called, “Love, Simon”. This movie showed the struggle of a young man by the name of Simon with his sexuality. He comes off as very “normal”, and it seems that no one in the world knows about his sexuality but him.

Until, he finds a fellow student at his school on a blog talking about his sexuality, and he decides to email this student with a made-up email, which in result, creates an online and anonymous relationship within the two.

Eventually, another student at this school gets hold of their email conversations and takes screenshots to take advantage of Simon to get with one of his best friends.

At the end, Simon ends up telling the world without shame that he is gay.

Love, Simon is an important and revolutionary movie because it touches the topic of sexuality like no other movie. The way it delivers its message, mixed with topics appealing to high schoolers, and its success with its sales, it is apparent that this movie was revolutionary.

Many people at James Logan High School decided to see the movie and enjoyed it! Mr. Powe, math teacher here at Logan says, “It was great! It will for sure have you tearing up a little bit, because it did for me. I think this movie was great for the LGBTQ community, and I advise everyone to go check it out to gain a better perspective.”

Jerrald James Sarmiento, senior at James Logan High School stated, “I came into the movie not really expecting anything cool. I thought the idea was cool, but figured it was just like any other high school movie. At the end, I was actually sitting at the edge of my seat, I’d give it 5 stars.”
