March is college decisions season, and Logan students have recently received lots of news.
This year, several California schools reported record-breaking application numbers, resulting in significantly lower acceptance rates compared to previous years.
Joshua La Rosa, a senior, said, “After getting rejected from UC Davis, I was very disappointed in myself. I thought I could get into at least one UC school, but this year was extremely competitive.”
So far, the only UC schools that have yet to release their decisions are Irvine, Santa Barbara, and Berkeley.
Salic Lee, a senior is “sad about getting rejected from three schools. I hope I can get into at least one in-state college by the end of this month.”
Nevertheless, some students maintain contrasting thoughts about being rejected.
Natasha Lopez, a senior, feels “indifferent after receiving a rejection letter.” Though she is optimistic about the rest of her decisions, “it taught me to aim lower to get into places with better acceptance rates.”
Another senior, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that “although rejection can be a tough process to go through, it taught me that I just wasn’t qualified enough. Decisions are bound to generate some disappointment, and the overall process is quite fair.”
Regardless of mixed feelings, until all decisions are released by the start of April, we hope everyone waiting for a decision can hopefully hear some good news soon!
