Hanfi Hines passed away this weekend due to medical complications
On Tuesday the teachers of James Logan High school said with heavy hearts to their students that their fellow peer, Hanfi Hines, passed away. The whole school had a moment of silence to respect this young man that was followed up by an email sent by principal Abhi Brar saying
“Students,
Hanif was a beloved friend and student to many of us in the Logan community and this news weighs heavy for many of us.
We all will feel a variety of emotions during this difficult time, including shock, sadness, grief, feeling detached or even anger. We want you to know that we, the Logan staff, care about you and want to come together to support you during this time. Unexpected loss like this is typically stressful, whether you knew this student or not. If you or your family has experienced a trauma or loss recently, this incident may trigger feelings for you. This is a normal experience. Please inform your teacher or counselor if you need to talk to someone for additional support.”
The family has set up a GoFundMe account – www.gofundme.com/hanif-homegoing-celebration. The mother of Hanfi Hines welcomes anyone to drop off food or donations to their home. If any students need help, time, or space, please go to the house offices. The loss of this student was almost a year after the loss of student Arlevia Livingston who passed away on February 20th 2016.
