James Logan High School will be hosting a Color Run to support a cause in the month of May. There is not a specific date but it is told to be on a Friday night. The theme is glow in the dark, so it is recommended to wear white top to bottom.Color Runs are owned by a for-profit company that has no winners or prizes. It’s use is to bring communities together, promoting healthiness and happiness amongst each other.
The purpose for Logan students participating in color run is to experience a fun and joyous occasion with their peers and to fill a sense of muse within each other. Students are to run and on goers will have the opportunity to throw various bright neon colors on them . No information has been set out as to where it will be held.
The origin for color run may have derived from the Asian Indian holiday known as ‘Holi’, where individuals throw bright neon colors contrasting from blue, green, purple, yellow, red, practically all colors of the rainbow. James Logan however, will be providing participants with glow and the dark power to throw on each other. Think of the experience like coachella except you’re having glow and the dark powder thrown onto you. There will also be an after party every student is welcomed to join. Come support a cause and practice a healthy lifestyle along side friends and family.
Running can eliminate depression and has many other benefits. For instance, you can lose weight, relieve stress, limit chances of disease, and boost confidence. According to Teen Help, 20% of students will be diagnosed with depression before they reach adulthood. We will update when we have further information on the event. Sign ups will be distributed the week after spring break, located in leadership in room 67, ask Ms. Walton or former senior student Angelique Bonilla for more information. Hope to see you there!
