Popular indie band Grouplove cancelled most dates to their 2017 Big Mess Tour.
They released a statement on their Twitter, and it is as follows:
“We deeply regret to announce that Hannah’s [the vocalist and keyboardist] vocal cord issue that caused some tour cancellations in December continues to persist. On her doctor’s recommendation, she is unable to do any sustained touring…Our plan now is for Hannah to recover fully so that we can get back out…[on] tour without interruption…we will be able to do a few isolated shows that will allow her voice to properly rest between performances…”
They will still be performing at the following events: the McDowell Music Festival March 3rd in Phoenix, the Santa Barbara Bowl (alongside Two Door Cinema Club) on April 14th, both weekends of the Coachella Music Festival April 16th and 23rd, and the Red Rocks Amphitheater (alongside the Head and the Heart) in Colorado on August 2nd.
The tour was their “Big Mess World Tour,” following their third studio album, Big Mess. It started in August 2016, and was planned to go into August of 2017.
Fans are devastated with these cancellations, but understand the reasoning. They are all wishing a speedy recovery to Hannah Hooper, and cannot wait for future shows.
