This new After-school Snacks Program in Logan has been on the Daily Announcements since the first day of school. This program is held after-school in the Logan Cafeteria, and its main purpose is to serve those who attend an after-school program. However, now this Snacks Program is open to everyone including those who don’t usually participate in an after-school activity.

“I thought it was beneficial for the students, for some of them who don’t have enough money for food and lunch,” said Emaan Rahmanzai, a sophomore at Logan, who got food from this program. She also claims that it would also “benefit the school because they (the school) can just give this leftover lunch to students for free instead of throwing them (the food) away.” By giving this food to the students, it prevents waste of food, as well as helping those students who may be in need of food after-school.

Nikole Rosales, a freshman at Logan, who benefited from this After-school Snack Program, stated that she really likes this program. Another student who benefited from the Snacks Program, Sukhmani Bhangal, a freshman in Logan, says that “I think it’s amazing. Because there are some people out there who may have something after-school…or maybe some people might not be able to eat a whole lot during the day, but at least they can know that they have something to eat [after-school].”

The menu of the after-school program has various choices just like the regular school lunch, such as sandwiches, pizza, corn dogs, salad, etc. The diversity of the menu can also fit the needs of many students.
