For Honor was released on February 14, 2017. It is a third person video game that involves a lot of melee combat. It has both multiplayer and single player campaigns.
In the game, there are three factions which are the vikings, the knights and the samurais that are at war with each other. Each of the faction has four heroes, so there are twelve heroes in total. The combat system in For Honor is called The Art of Battle which is key to the success of the game. This system gets the character in stance to fight an enemy. It helps with blocking the enemy attack, but it is not that. You could parry, from combo attacks, and there is the bleed effect. While the combat system seems simple, there are plenty of ways to fight your opponent. Also, when you are surrounded, there is revenge mode to give you a fighting chance. There is a single player campaign that tells the story of why these three factions are at war with each other. Unfortunately, the enemies, AI, in the single player campaign, are challenging, but they are not enough to compare to the multiplayer in which you can’t predict the players movement.
I say that this game is worth playing because it is intense and it involves strategy. Ubisoft is following the Rainbow Six Siege model of giving out dlc, meaning they will have a new map and two new heroes each quarter in a year. Give For Honor a shot, you won’t regret it.
