There will be updates as this story develops.
Right before 4th period today, there was a high speed chase and accident right on the corner of H St.. My friend and I witnessed the whole incident unfold. After we had just crossed the street, back onto school grounds we heard police sirens. At first we thought nothing of it. Police sirens go off everyday.
As we continued to walk towards the Memorial Square gates, I noticed two guys frantically crossing the street next to the pool. That’s when we saw an orange car speeding down the street with two cop cars tailing right behind it. My friend pulled out her phone and began to record on her Snapchat.
There appeared to be a female in the passenger seat with a Decoto beanie on as they passed us. They tried to make a sharp left turn when they hit the curb and crashed into a lawn. That lawn happens to belong to one of the many CST’s here. Cops were quick to surround the car, their guns drawn. We were then advised to get into Memorial Square.
Witness reports says a man was arrested and the female ran away, but was later detained.
UPDATE
It was two males.
UPDATE
I was able to get a quote from CST Lorene, who’s lawn was the one they crashed on.
“That was crazy! I wasn’t home at the time I was painting a giant tree in a babies nursery and my phone started to go crazy. I was up on a ladder at the time. I saw a picture of a car in front of my house on the lawn so I came home and saw the craziness Thank God we are okay and our house is okay. Evidently it was a police chase.”
She sent the photo below with it.
