The Logan Boys Basketball is preparing for a big game. This Friday, they will play Roosevelt High for the State Championship, in the Sacramento Kings new arena, Golden 1 Center.
Although the team fell short of an NCS title, they have since bounced
back and gone strong in the state championship run. The boys have netted wins against Modesto Christian, San Leandro, and their most recently, a talented Palo Alto squad.
This marks the first time in over 30 years that Logan Basketball has reached the state championships. The last time they achieved this feat, in 1985, the Colts fell short. Now, the team has different plans and hopes to make history by putting Logan basketball on the map.
Shooting guard Ryan Parilla stated,”It’s a blessing getting to where we are now […] To be honest, I didn’t think we would make it this far. People say we had a Cinderella story, but that’s not true. We’ve been doing work right after the season ended last year, we set goals, and we achieved most of them. We won the league, made it to NorCal, but fell short. Now we have the opportunity to win state, and no one believes in us but ourselves. Our drive to prove them all wrong fuels our fire and makes us desire the title even more.”
Logan plans on bringing three fan buses to the game so the team can have the maximum support. This Friday, come to Sacramento to cheer on the Colts in a final game to an exciting season.
