Saint Louis University is a private research institution that has a campus both in Missouri and in Spain.

Founded in 1818 it is the second oldest Jesuit university in the nation. The school has a strong athletic program and competes in the NCAA’s division, and the Atlantic 10 conference.  The university is best known for its Northern Central Association of colleges and secondary school.

The average size of class size in Missouri is 23.8 students, with a student-faculty ratio of 12:1. The university has both dorms and apartment on campus. The acceptance rate is 64%, approximately 13,505.

The campus in Spain has been open for about 30 years, and was the first American-Facilitated university in Europe. This campus has 675 students and a student-faculty ratio of 7:1.

The university requires an average “B” grade, a SAT score of 1600 or higher, and an ACT score of 23. The university focuses a large portion of admissions on the numerical data. SLU encourages students to take challenging classes, extracurricular activity and write a strong application essay.

Tuition, room and board at St.Louis costs around $39,000 a year. SLU offers four merit scholarships and three specific scholarships for freshmen.
