Hip Hop Elements is a group of open-minded people that created this group to enjoy themselves and learn more about the four elements of hip-hop – breakdancing, the history of hip hop, street art and creating music.
The club co-presidents are Gerald Mayupao and Wilson Suon. There are alumni that come here to practice with the club such as Gabriel Torres, Kevin Torion, and Wilson Castro. Also, they have members of the club that come from different schools such as Newark Memorial High School and American High School.
The purpose of Hip Hop Elements is to teach others about the history and culture of hip hop. It serves as a meeting place for fellow breakdancers and hip hop fanatics to meet up and cultivate their love and knowledge of hip hop.
Annie Lai said “Hip Hop Elements is a cool club that taught me a lot about another culture, which I would’ve never understood or even known about unless I joined this club.”
From her experiences from the amount of time she has been in the club, Taylor rasay said
“Hip Hop Elements seems like a cool thing to be in and it seems really interesting to join but I can’t because my schedule can not match the dates that the club meets up.”
Even though he is unable to join the club he would. Noble Correa said. “its a way for the youth to really connect to the soul of music.”
