Battlefield 1 sold almost fifteen million copies on release weekend. Surprisingly, EA DICE sold more copies of Battlefield 1 on October 21, 2016 than Battlefield 4 (2013) and Battlefield Hardline (2015) combined.
With an amazing multiplayer experience, EA DICE makes for a very interesting yet short single- player experience. The single player experience is only six hours with five interesting missions.
My personal experience with the single-player mode is that it is too short, but if it were longer it might have won Single-Player Game of The Year. The best part of the single player is that the famous Lawrence of Arabia is part of it and you might know him from the 1962 movie of the same title.
Battlefield 1 includes many great stories, but my favorite is “The Runner.” In this story, you play as Frederick Bishop, a soldier who is part of a naval invasion on the Ottoman Empire homeland in the spring of 1915. Bishop’s biggest concern is Jack Foster, a boy he met on the second day of the invasion, who is the new charge of Bishop. The boy had lied about his age to get past conscription, just to meet Frederick Bishop.
For those looking for a single-player experience, the game disappoints, and in my opinion it is not worth getting. However, those looking for a good multiplayer experience will be amazed, especially with the new gamemode operations that require you to capture all flags then move up while the enemy is defending the territory.
All in all I would recommend the game, but only for certain modes of playing, so you better know what you’re getting into before making a purchase.
