Ebay and Amazon are both popular online shopping retailers which sell every item you can possibly think of, including shoes, clothing, electronics, books, cars, household supplies and much more. Both, however, are the top competitors in the online shopping field, leading many to wonder which one is better.
Amazon offers services such as Amazon Prime, which enables free two-day shipping for most products. For Ebay, it is necessary to pay for expedited shipping. Items can be found on the free shipping category, but they usually take longer to arrive.
In both, reviews are offered along with ratings of sellers, so that an individual can effectively buy the product on their websites as well. Returning and cancelling purchases is available for the buyer as well. Prices are relatively better in comparison with in store products as most come out of the country.
Several people favor one shopping realtor over the other, and they have many different reasons as to why. As a frequent customer of both companies, I personally favor Ebay because my stuff always comes and on time. I ordered a chiffon top on Amazon once, and it never came. However, it was nice of them to give a refund though through a mere process of messaging the seller.
Nevertheless, this occurred with Ebay too, when I ordered a phone and it didn’t come with a battery inside. The returning process was cooperative but really hectic. Princess Gantum stated that “Amazon is more trustworthy than Ebay.” This can be understandable as Ebay has more direct sellers.
Furthermore, James Logan Junior Banpreet Atwal said, “I don’t like how you can bid on Ebay. You are never really able to get what you what because most people tend to make a higher bid for the best products.”
Sherly, another junior, reported that “I like Ebay because it’s really cheaper, on Amazon you have to buy a subscription or something just to get their prime shipping….I don’t get how that’s free shipping.” In contrast, another student stated, “I like Amazon because they have so many pictures, full length reports for reviews including when it came, what it’s like, and even videos to show the items.”
The general consensus is that Amazon gives more information to get the better deal. While I personally prefer Ebay to Amazon, most people favored Amazon in nearly every aspect.
