Do you ever get an “ick” from someone? Now the common question is “what’s an ick?” An ick is an oddly specific action someone does that just completely turns you away from them.

Originating from TikTok, “icks” were created by girls on the app to help other girls get over their crushes. The methodology behind the idea was that when you saw him doing that specific action, it would remind you of turn you off from him.

We went around and asked Logan community members this question:

“What’s your ick?”

The answers are priceless – listed below in no particular order.

“When he blows his food to cool it down”

“When someone gets out of the car and their buttcrack is showing.”

“When a guy is using an umbrella while it’s raining.”

“When a guy walks back after his turn in bowling.”

“When a guy drops something and he has to chase after it.”

“A guy chasing a ping pong ball.”

“When he carries a lunch box.”

“Running up the stairs on all fours.”

“Sitting on a bar stool and their legs dangle.”

Saying, “Where my hug at?”

“When a guy tries to act ‘hood’.”

Saying, “Pick me boys.”

“When a guy is complement fishing.”

“When he holds his nose before going under water.”

“When he’s waiting for the lifeguard to tell him to go down the slide.”

“When he eats something hot and goes ‘hauf-hauf-hauf’.”

“When the automatic door doesn’t open for him and he jerks back and forth.”

“When they miss a beat drop especially if they are too early.”

“Dropping something in the store and having to put it back.”

“When he’s trying to merge lanes and no one lets him in.”

“When his trunks get inflated by the water.”

“Speedos”

“When he texts ‘hehe’.”

“When he’s speaking to a group of people but no one hears him so he has to say it again.”

“When he raises his hand to call the waiter but no one acknowledges him.”

“When a guy has a white tongue.”

“When he says ‘this is for you’ and misses the shot.”

“When his Bitmoji looks better than him.”

“Using the winking emoji.”

“Excessive lip licking.”

 “When his shoes squeak.”

As we did more research and asked more people, we quickly realized that all of these answers are from girls. All the guys we asked didn’t know what an ick was, or any example they would give wasn’t an ick, it was just a red flag.

So now that leaves us wondering, did girls make up the idea of an ick?
