Tuesdays with Morrie by Mitch Albom is a soul touching memoir filled with philosophy that the majority of people seem to underestimate; inevident creativity, forces of nature, and the power of vulnerability.
This piece of literature is the final thesis of a life changing friendship with his former student, Mitch Albom, a journalist.
Morrie has been teaching all his life. He then has no choice, but to retire as a disease begins to dominate his fragile aging body. Morrie receives a devastating message about the amount of time he has left, all because of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), aka. Lou Gehrig’s disease; a condition of the nerve cells breaking down, leading to severe weakness of muscles.
You would believe that such a tragedy has happened, but lying in the roots of this situation is an enchanting moral that will change one’s mindset. As ALS continued to melt Morrie’s body, the rest of the factors of vitality strengthen.
Despite the author, who happened to be a journalist, Tuesdays with Morrie is not only filled with interesting facts, but spilled with emotions and reflective thoughts of a soul aging man.
Because of the time that Morrie knew he had left, he valued the simple things in life even more than he had before. Though it was his last days of life, he has never acted so alive.
This story is absolutely amazing for ones who are struggling with difficult problems resulting to distress.
There is more that I want to say about this wonderful story, but I cannot continue to spoil.
Everyone that I know who has read this memoir, creates a bonding string tied to the heart of such a man, Morrie.
Tuesdays with Morrie has become one of my most favorite soul aiming books, captivating the truth of living.
