Everyone loves Walmart because of their cheap prices, but everyone also loves Target due to their higher quality merchandise. But, which do the Colts think is really better? Why is it better?
Looking at Business Insider, it shows that in 2015 consumers are more likely to shop at Walmart than Target due to the advertising costs being lower, and it’s ranked #38 in the World’s Most Admired stores, whereas Target is ranked #48, but some of our Colts think otherwise.
Sophomore, Leanna Gacayan said, “I prefer to go to Target rather than Walmart simply because Target is larger and they have a wider selection of things.”
Justin Chen, a senior, also agrees with Gacayan, he stated, “I would have to say Target too because it’s cleaner with more accessories and better quality in the stuff they sell.”
Another senior, Janelle Figueroa also sides with Target, she said, “Personally, I prefer going to Target. It has a very relaxing environment compared to Walmart because it’s always hectic and crowded. I also prefer shopping at Target because although the prices aren’t as cheap than Walmart, they offer better brands, therefore better quality.”
Although most of our colts prefer Target as their “go to” shopping store, some would rather shop at Walmart. Senior, Victoria Sanders stated, “I prefer Walmart because things are cheaper there. I’d rather go to Walmart where the parking lot isn’t as full as Target.”
Overall, some people like Walmart for its cheap prices and convenient parking lot, but more students prefer the more organized setups and brand names that come with shopping at Target.
