2015 in California has welcomed an El Nino winter. There has been a lot of rain, wind and overall a cold atmosphere. Unlike years prior, students now need to be prepared day to day with any necessities needed to take on the cold weather.

´´I like the rain because we are in drought, the rain is good. ¨ stated Mursal a senior. When dealing with the cold weather at home she says ¨I turn up the heater up to 80 and I wrap myself in a blanket-burrito¨ and in the mornings, she gets ready for school by ¨ I drink tea, and I turn up the heater in my car. She likes to wear scarves and beanies.

Abdul a senior prefers the cold weather because his clothing style best fits the winter however he explains ¨I don’t like the rain unless I am at home because I don’t like being wet.¨ He takes hot showers to stay warm before he starts his day.

Marcos grade 12 shares why he likes the cold weather ¨ When it’s cold, you can bundle up to stay warm, but when it is hot, it is difficult to cool down.¨ While explaining his joy in experiencing the El Nino winter, Marcos states ¨ I think it’s nice; it actually feels like winter because in the bay area, we hardly feel the seasons.´´ When asked what his staple winter attire is he explains
¨ Definitely my crewneck and a jacket, double socks, hats and scarves.¨

Winter feels like it has already begun even though December 22 is the official start of the season. But with the cold weather now and the even colder and rainier weather that is to come, Logan students have what they need to stay warm.
