“SOOOPPHHMOOORESS SOOOOPPHHMOORES”, all the sophomores were chanting as their skit was coming to an end. A group of individuals in the class of 2018, came together to organize a skit to perform to their fellow peers.

“Skit for me went really well. I met a bunch of new people and really bonded with them during skit. It was a great experience because we were all able to work together and get our skit to be the best it could! I was able to try new things that I’ve never done before, like acting out a character. Overall, skit was lit and fun because it’s always a good time during skit practice and performing it during the night rally was great!” expresses Nicole Kazandra.

Students here at Logan are aware that every year there’s a theme chosen for their class. The theme usually has to do with a movie. The skit that each class puts together is then presented at the Night Rally. Skit is an activity to participate here at school that expands skills that one wouldn’t even know they had. It is also a great way to help out your class in order to fulfill success in their skit.

In the beginning of the skit the narrator, also known as one of the actors in skit, introduced the whole cast along with the scenario. The story of the skit began with a few different people. There was a student that was all focused into studies, a student that was laid back, and a couple that’s been together for a long time. The whole main cast are all friends, and they all have a difficult time getting together. Since the laid back student, Nicole, wasn’t focused on her education much, she thought that she could maybe get together with the student focused on his studies, Malcolm. At a point during the skit, Malcolm and Nicole decide to help each other by Malcolm helping Nicole out with school, and Nicole getting Malcolm to chill out more. Throughout the skit, the boyfriend of the couple decides to invite a few people over. With this decision, this would be a great moment for Nicole to get Malcolm out of the books. As the boyfriend invites these people, those people end up inviting more people! While this keeps expanding, the boyfriend isn’t able to tell his girlfriend about the accidental party. This then causes a conflict with the two but in conclusion, they conclude in happiness and makeup.

From watching all the skits in general, including my own class, I’ve changed my perspective on skit and I’ve decided to participate in doing it next year. From what I’ve heard from participants in skit, it seems like an activity I’d be interested in doing. I’d aspire to expand my social skills and skills that I’ve never known I had before by attending skit practices.

All in all, the sophomores did an amazing job on leaving a lasting impression to kick off the part two of Spirit Week.
