This year the theme Juniors used for their float and skit was based on the movie Tron Legacy.
The skit which was performed last Thursday was entertaining. The dances were good however, the storyline was confusing.
In the beginning, the main character and a supporting character were at school, but then with the turn of the background, it immediately transitioned to the Tron world without a clear explanation.
There was also lots of difficulty hearing some of the voices because of malfunctions of the sound set.
When they transitioned to the Tron World, new characters were added without clear introduction of their characters as well as their roles in the production. One happened to be the father of the main character, who is a major turning point in the story, but I hadn’t been able to figure that out until later on.
The rest of the storyline was inconsistent and the transitions to the dances seemed random.
The dances were really entertaining though. It was obvious the students worked really hard on the choreography and a majority of them were in sync with one another throughout each dance.
The best part was the final dance. At the start of it, the front dancer was lifted on her back and carried by the other dancers and was flipped upside down into the middle of the crowd of dancers and they broke out into their moves.
What really made the juniors stand out from the other grades was when they used glow sticks and turned the lights off and continued to dance having the audience see their movement in glowing light.
