On Thursday, May 11th, juniors took their turn to perform the class skit. The class of 2020 went with their class theme, The Game of Life but had a plot like Jumanji. Four people were stuck in The Game of Life and went down a life path the game offers in hope of getting out and returning home.
In between each scene, there would be a dance break in traditional skit fashion where it would wrap up the scene and summarize it. Some songs the juniors used were Silence by Marshmello ft. Khalid, a mashup of God is a woman and 7 Rings by Ariana Grande, Wow by Post Malone, and When I Grow Up by The Pussycat Dolls.
What they may have lacked in an ending to their story they made up with their backdrops and dances. The backdrops that the juniors had were actually visually appealing and they looked pretty well done. However, many were left confused when they didn’t find out if the actors actually got out of the game they were stuck in or if they were just going to stay there forever.
One of the performers Adriana Tovar shared that, “I always join because I made a vow to my freshman self that I would do skit all 4 years so of course, I plan on joining next year. My favorite part of performing is hearing the crowd and seeing that they enjoyed the work that we have done.”
