The Logan Colts played a tough game against the Clayton Valley Charter High School Eagles on Friday, September 18. Clayton Valley is considered one of the toughest teams to beat in Northern California.

The Eagles had a great start by scoring a touchdown in the first quarter. This led Clayton Valley 7-0. Izaiah Paopao scored the first touchdown for the Colts, but at the last second of the quarter, the Eagles scored a second touchdown where they led 14-7.

Ahmari Davis caught the kickoff in the 2nd quarter, but was stopped by number 13 on the Eagles. Unfortunately, for the Colts, the Eagles intercepted the ball twice in the 2nd quarter. By halftime, the score was 28-7.

As the 3rd quarter began, CV started with a flag on the play for holding, but this did not stop them from scoring once again. The quarter ended 42-7.

Logan came back during the 4th quarter, where Ahmari Davis scored another touchdown at 9:35. The game ended with a score of 42-13, where the Eagles had a successful win.

“We prepared like we did for any game,” says wide receiver, Sir Jordan Smith. “It just came down to executing the game, we didn’t execute as much as we thought we should have.”

Receiver Nashon Wright added onto that by saying, “We could have been faster, more physical, and could have just played our game.”

The Colts are now 3-1 for the 2015-16 season. Logan will attempt to bring home another win against Castro Valley High School at Castro Valley on Friday, September 25, at 7:00 pm.
