After asking Logan to go into lockdown, the UCPD is searching throughout the campus, according to email from Vice Principal Francis Rojas to the staff and students.  Teachers had organized students into classrooms and locked all doors, waiting for further instructions or announcements.

Around 12:15, UCPD notified Logan that a 911 call was made stating that someone was on their way to Logan with a gun to shoot up the school, then suddenly hung up.  They tried to call back, but the phone just kept ringing.  James Logan High School was advised to lockdown the school.  UCPD identified that the phone call was made from a cell phone in the vicinity of the campus and are currently searching the campus and neighborhood.

A false safe alert led to few students walking out of the classroom, but later were told to stay inside and wait for further instructions.  No injuries are reported, as all students are safe in classrooms

There are false emails informing about the cause of the lockdown floating around.  Please wait for official announcements from the school.

At 2:18 pm, the lockdown was lifted, and students rushed to bathrooms after the announcement.

The threat was found to be a hoax. The caller was identified and arrested by the UCPD.
