Students wanted to express their feelings about the 2016 James Logan High School Homecoming rally. These are their reactions.

Many students were disappointed about how the homecoming rally was set up this year. Instead of the usual tradition of having the rally at the football field, it was moved into the pavilion and separated into 2 different rallies for many reasons.

Most students, especially seniors, expressed their disappointment about the way the rally was set up for their last year. Some students preferred the traditional homecoming rally style and were looking forward to it. However, some also said that they enjoyed it. A few students who were at the first rally liked it, and stayed to join the second rally which was apparently better.

“I was angry and disappointed that my last homecoming rally took place in the pavilion,” expressed Alexa Cortez, a JLHS senior.

“It would have been so much better if it was in the stadium with everyone like every year.”

Veronica Zarate, another senior, stated that “The rally was horrible. I was disappointed that it was so boring and unspirited my last year. They never should have changed the traditional way.”

If the school wants to keep having the rallies in the Pavilion then they are going to have to find a way to make the entertainment bigger and better than the last like they do in the other outdoor rallies.

Overall, almost all the students indicated their negativity towards the way that the homecoming rally was set up this year. It was disappointing for not only a lot of students, but also many teachers. Many hope that the rallies to come go back to the old rally on the school’s stadium with everyone there.
