The homecoming dance at James Logan High School is always a highly anticipated event by many students there. The homecoming dance closes out the weekly festivities of spirit week and allows students a fun chance to dance and socialize but this year students may have a little more to look forward to.
Popular rap artist, P-lo, who is from the Bay Area is attending our homecoming dance this year, which is being held on October 29th.
It all started when junior, Preet Samra, direct messaged P-lo on the popular social media app, Twitter. When asked about it she responded with “I just asked him how many retweets it would take for him to attend the dance and he responded with 500”. As soon as he replied, Samra took a screenshot of the conversation and posted it on her Twitter account. Immediately, the retweets poured in and hit 500 within the hour.
Junior, Stephanie Ramirez, says “I’m excited because leadership usually doesn’t ask for famous people to attend our dances and It’s awesome. I think a lot of people will go if P-lo does show up because he is widely known by people at the school”.
Samra reported that P-lo will be coming to the dance before his event “Hyphy Halloween” starts in San Francisco at the Warfield. “He needs to reply to the school with his business email and then everything should be all good to go, if something does happen with scheduling and he can’t come then I hope to organize a concert here with him for the students.”
