On September 2, 2015 longtime James Logan High School math teacher Mrs. Cathy Staib has passed away.
After having talked to Ethnic Studies teacher Mrs. Tina Bobadilla-Mastel and learning that she had been a former student of Staib, Bobadilla had stated, “ We wanted to support her as she had for us and the school for the past 30 years”. Many of her students had idolized her for being so passionate about her work with them.
Many of her colleagues stated, “ She was so full of life and energy”.
Teachers of the school have been very supportive and caring. Many teachers including Bobadilla had gone to church with Staib. “ We supported her, and did our best to brighten her attitude. We went to church and made rosary, she was a very joyful woman.”
Staib was very influential in many of her students lives as well as her colleagues. “She was a very supportive and religious person, overall she was a great woman”. Many of Logan’s teachers had kept her comfort by visiting her and singing Christmas carols at her home during the holidays.
Bobadilla stated, “She will be greatly missed as a teacher, friend, and colleague. She made an impact on all of our lives, and we will miss her dearly”.
