For all the Disney fans dying for another princess movie, Disney Pictures unleashed its latest masterpiece: a fantastic princess movie that came out November 23, called Moana.
“Moana” whose name means “the ocean”, is main character of the movie: a Hawaiian princess of a village in the Southern Pacific islands. As a young girl, Moana used to listen to her grandmother tell stories about legends crossing the reefs and how dangerous it was. This idea is repeated throughout the movie, as Moana’s fellow villagers are in constant fear of going beyond the reef.
As the movie progresses, Moana begins to get along very well with the seas, and forms a close relationship with her grandma, who also loves the waters. As her grandmother is ill and dying, she tells Moana that the ocean chose her to save her people, and that she must leave straight away.
Moana then shows her character as a hopeful, fearless and spirited young girl, who journeyed offs into the depths of the ocean to team up with the demigod who started it all, Maui. They faced series of obstacles such as an enormous sea carp, vicious coconuts and a lava monster.
Disney’s Moana shows a breathtaking ending, in which Moana finally breaks the barrier and ventures out across the reef. Moana presents a mesmerizing message from beginning to end about trusting your gut, doing what you like, ever giving up. This inspirational movie is recommended to Disney fans of all ages.
