The mighty Colts brought home another win against the Castro Valley Trojans Friday, September 25. The game ended with an outstanding score of 40-25.
The first quarter went by pretty quickly, and not a lot of action happened. Rogelio Reyes, quarterback, scored the first touchdown of the game, which led Logan 7-0.
During the second quarter, Ahmari Davis intercepted the ball at 7:53, followed by Damani Sistena scoring a touchdown. The Trojans were falling behind by 14 points. The colts scored another time after that, and took a 19-0 lead at halftime.
The third quarter was where things started to heat up between both teams. Castro Valley came back from halftime ready to play. They scored the first touchdown of the 3rd quarter, but Logan also came prepared after halftime with Davis bringing the score up at 6:13. Sean Simpson followed that by adding a point for the colts.
Connor Piper of the Trojans scored the next touchdown, giving them 6 extra points. The score for the end of the quarter was 27-13.
Castro Valley started off a little shaky for the 4th quarter, and luckily for Logan, there was a flag on the play and a pass interference for the Trojans. The Colts scored once again bringing them up 33-13. They had a two-point conversion, but the Trojans intercepted the ball and scored.
Phillip Eadus, running back, stampeded over the Trojans giving them a first down, followed by a touchdown from Sean Simpson. The score was then 40-19.
Outside linebacker, Jose Rodriguez attempted to intercept the ball, but unfortunately missed it. The Trojans scored another touchdown shortly after, bringing the score up 40-25.
The Trojans had the ball, but Trevor Brown intercepted it, making the final score, 40-25.
Castro Valley seemed easier to beat than the last, which was at Clayton Valley. Defensive tackle, Jessy Mefford says, “This defense compared to the last sucked, but their offense was good.”
So far, James Logan is 4-1 for this season. We will see if they can bring home another win against Bishop O’Dowd at Bishop O’Dowd, on Friday, October 2nd, at 7:00.
