The Logan Varsity football team made a comeback from their last game on October 9th, against Atascadero High School, where the game went into overtime and ended with a score of 27-28. The Colts played the Kennedy High School Titans for their homecoming game on Friday, October 16, 2015. Logan won with an incredible score of 41-12.
Running back, Ahmari Davis, rallied up the crowd by scoring a touchdown in the first quarter. Another touchdown was scored soon after by Davis, leading the Colts 13-0. Logan was on fire, scoring another touchdown making the score 21-0.
Going into the second quarter, the Colts scored two touchdowns. Outside linebacker, Jason Kelly scored the first touchdown and led the score, 28-0. With no luck of scoring, Kennedy was down by 35 points. The score was 35-0 leading into halftime.
Kennedy came back prepared during the third quarter, making the score 35-6. Not much action happened in the third quarter, but the fourth quarter was where the crowd stood up from their seats.
Kennedy made an attempt to stop Logan, but running back, Carlos Johnson, successfully scored. The Titans quarterback threw the ball to their teammate, where they ran to the 22-yard line for a first down. The Colts could not stop the Titans, and they scored at the last minute of the game. The game ended by running the clock and the final score was 41-12. The Colts collided with a clash of the Titans.
“I think we played tough, we played together, we played with chemistry,” says Davis. “We played fast, we fought, and we played good.”
“It was a good way to go out because we kind of blew them out the water like I predicted earlier on Logan Live and at the rally,” says offensive guard, Jessy Mefford. “They suck pretty much. They were talking on Twitter, so we pretty much had to back it up.”
With only two games left of the season until NCS playoffs, Logan is now 6-2 for 2015-16.
“It’s kind of starting to hit me now as the season’s coming to an end,” says cornerback, Jamaria Young. “It’s getting kind of sad to me honestly.”
Logan has an away game against De La Salle on October 30, 2015 at 7 pm. The De La Salle Spartans are ranked #3 in California for high school football. The team would love your support by coming out and wearing your black and red attire.
