CSU Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is a beautiful campus located in San Luis Obispo, California.

This public university was founded in 1901 and has been a dream school for a number of student. The Campus of Cal Poly is approximately 10 miles away from Pacific Ocean.

The campus offers 64 Bachelor’s degrees and 32 masters programs specializing in Civil and Mechanical Engineering, Business and management, Animal Sciences, Biology, and Architecture. Cal Poly requires its incoming students to list their major when applying.

The motto of Cal Poly SLO is “learn by doing.” This means a lot of students get experience before they get a permanent job. This also encourages students to work out real-life problems.

As of fall 2009 the staff to student ratio is 19:1. Present classes are also small.

The acceptance rate of Cal Poly is 34.5% (2013). Their recommended SAT scores are: Critical Reading – 550-640, and for Math – 580-680. Recommended ACT scores for Math and English are 26 and 24 respectively.

Total tuition, including dorms, for Cal Poly is approximately $25,000. However 47% of the Cal Poly students receive Financial Aid. For more information about scholarships from Cal Poly visit this page.
