House two Counselor Satinder Jamal has left Logan and has been replaced by Barbara Alexander.
Jamal’s husband, a forensic scientist, recently found a new job in Denver, Colorado.
“Over the last year, he’s been taking several college course and boot camps to upgrade his ability to work in the field of forensic science investigation,” commented Barbara Alexander, “and in the fall he got a job in Denver.”
Jamal was seen by many to be a wonderful, helpful, and friendly counselor.
“She was really nice and helpful. She gave me a lot of advice. She was also very supportive and ensured that I was on the right path for college,” said Jyotsna Kethepalli, senior. “She gave me a glimpse of the real world and what to do if I was ever in a crisis.”
Austin Nguyen says that “she was actually really helpful and cool.”
One anonymous student stated that they will “miss her a lot, I want to thank her for all the schedule errors she helped me work out for the past four years. She was always very courteous and professional.”
Alexander continued, “they just bought a four bedroom house with their little baby. [Jamal] is so proud of her husband and she’s expecting twins. Now she gets to stay home and just relax with her little baby. We’re all very happy for Ms. Jamal.”
Barbara Alexander has now taken over Jamal’s position as the third house two counselor. All of Jamal’s former students have already been transferred over to her. These include all house two students with last names starting with Go to N. Her office is located in the very front of house two.
According to Alexander, Jamal’s departure was not sudden. “I knew when he got the job [that she would be leaving] but I didn’t know that I’d be offered the job. But I’m very happy to take it and help out my counseling team. Plus I really do enjoy working at Logan.”
