Conditioning for Badminton began last Wednesday, and will continue until this Thursday.
Interested players should meet at the field after school, and be prepared to practice for about an hour.
Returning players doing conditioning are happy to start the new season.
“It gives us time to get back into shape before the season starts,” returning player Carys Wu, told the Courier. “It’s a little tiring and can be a little repetitive but it’s not that bad,” she says. “My advice for new players, especially freshmen, is to try your best and just power through it until it’s over.”
New players are fatigued but still enthusiastic about tryouts.
Christine Bautista, a sophomore trying out for the first time, said, “During the first week, I was tired from practice to the point that my entire body felt sore. But now, I’m getting used to it.” She also told the Courier, “Doing all those exercises with my friends, it’s actually kind of fun.”
Others are not so enthusiastic. Another new player said they “hate all the running we have to do because I’m really slow, but I still really want to make the team. Ms. Nguyen says we should at least try not to walk so that’s usually my goal while running long distance.”
